I did alot of Googling and online research to find a motorcycle alarm. I live in an apartment building and a neither a bad nor particularly good neighborhood, so I wanted to get a pager with whatever alarm I got. I finally decided on the Armed Guard AG-Sport (the AG-Pager is an optional, additional item), and I'm glad I did. Here are the reasons for my decision.
1. Not A Discontinued Product ---- One of the core reasons I bought it was that it's a real company with real people and the product is supported by an 800 number. Unlike Gorilla or Nady alarms: neither of these mention alarms on their sites, so I assume discontinued products. Not that these other companies are necessarily bad -- i.e. Nady makes great musical electronics, but no more alarms. But unless one can talk to someone pre- and post-sales, a product can turn useless pretty fast if problems arise.
2. Universal, Easy Instructions and Installation: ---- Simple, clear instructions, though it did take me longer than the usual note on such products that it takes "only x minutes" to install -- but such things are situation specific. Most of my time spent was figuring out a good place to put it on my Honda CBR 600 -- a sports/racing style bike with less obviously secure places than say a Honda Goldwing, etc.
3. Great Customer and Tech Support --- Due to my particular situation as a person on a limited disability income, it was critical that I be very sure I'd have a person, not just an email address for pre-sales questions and especially to fall back on if problems arose since this was a pretty major purchase for me. No problems there at all. On the contrary: Efficient and friendly.
Now, was there any drawbacks? Not as far as the motorcycle alarm was concerned, it fired up right away once installed, including the motorcycle alarm pager. Any tweaking of sensitivity of alarm and so on is my job, not theirs, for each situation and motorcycle is unique.
Bottom Line:
For someone in my financial situation, this is a perfect match. Simple, affordable, and just as important, this is a classic "American Dream" company: A small business serving a niche market on an international level with efficiency and human courtesy.
In my view, a A+ customer satisfaction and peace-of-mind story all the way.

Hi, Just wanted to leave you an update on my Armed Guard Alarm System. Bike now has 91,000 miles and the motorcycle alarm is still working perfect. The security alarm system has had more water abuse and keeps on ticking, in Aug. 2003 round trip to Sturgis was 5,600 miles, 480 in rain on the way to, and 610 on the way home. Then 2 weeks later, we went to H-D 100th, another soggy trip home - 1,114 miles in the rain. So thanks again for a Superior Motorcycle Alarm System. P.S. The Bike has never skipped a beat either.

Approximately 3 years ago I purchased the complete Armed Guard motorcycle alarm package to guard my Harley Davidson Electra Glide. The alarm has provided many hours of peace of mind, since most of my riding involves touring in areas where safety and security are unknown. This was never so apparent as on a recent trip to Canada where my bike was passed over to be stolen in favor of an unarmed Harley Electra Glide parked two parking spaces away. This unfortunate event occurred at a very upscale Hotel on a secured parking lot. I have to believe my Armed Guard motorcycle alarm was the contributing factor that made the difference between remorse and riding. It didn't take long for my riding group to see the benefits of having the motorcycle alarm especially with the radar security zone. I was afforded additional security for the rest of the trip since every one fought over who got to park next to my bike (including front and rear) to reap the security benefits of my motorcycle alarm with pager. Needless to say I have become an unofficial Armed Guard motorcycle alarm sales representative since everyone I ride with inquires about my motorcycle alarm. Thank you for marketing such an affordable and effective motorcycle security system product, thanks to Armed Guard my time is still being spent riding instead of replacing a missing motorcycle.

I have found your products to be the best available motorcycle alarm for my 2003 Indian Chief Vintage model. The simplicity of installation and the security coverage is unmatched, but what I am most impressed with is your service and technical assistance. I have been the aftermarket technical service advisor of a international corporation for twenty years and will use the way you respond to product questions as a teaching example. You are an example of what American companies should aspire to become.

Thank you for such a quick response! I have to say that I'm rather impressed with your motorcycle alarm system. It easily has to be the best investment I've ever made. It simply amazes me that someone would risk getting arrested over stealing a Harley Davidson Sportster. Unfortunately, law enforcement is never as fast as a good theft deterrent and thankfully Armed Guard Security makes such a Harley Davidson alarm.
--Rich
I would again like to express my appreciation for your outstanding customer service and personal attention that is undoubtedly rivaled by few. Your motorcycle alarm security systems are very user friendly and can be easily installed by anyone with a moderate mechanical knowledge. If I ever need another system I'll be sure to buy another Armed Guard motorcycle security system. I wish I could somehow hook a couple of those up to my factory system on my Harley Davidson Road King.

Of all the motorcycle alarms we have installed, an ARMED GUARD motorcycle alarm is by far the easiest to install/maintain/operate. Many times people come in to have a alarm installed and then come back in a month to have it removed because of it's unreliability. I will continue to recommend ARMED GUARD motorcycle alarms to anyone looking for a motorcycle alarm. You've one hell of a product here. Thanks again,

Thanks for the great Portable Alarm System! It has provided the peace of mind needed. I have been using it as a Landscape Equipment Alarm, and being it is portable, haved loaned it to my associate to use as a Survey Equipment Alarm. Next I plan to use it as a Trailer Alarm for our upcoming ATV trip. Thanks

I ordered your motorcycle alarm. I love it. It was easy to install and works great. For people like me that feel the insurance would not replace my creation properly this is the only way to go Thanks,
--Andy Sokolowski
It would be an honor if you posted my story about your motorcycle alarm system! It saved me thousands of dollars and the thief never had a chance to get very far with my bike, thanks to your motorcycle alarm! Catching the perpetrator would have made my day but he managed to get away when I went down after the motorcycle alarm went off!

Thanks for the great Portable Alarm System. I have been using it as a Tool Box Alarm. --Jim
Just a short note to let you know how pleased I am with my model 300 armed guard motorcycle alarm that I purchased in 99 and installed on my 99Harley Davidson FLHT. The motorcycle alarm has performed flawlessly to this date (11/6/02). I even added the optional armed guard motorcycle alarm pager in April of 2000. Every rally that I attend fellow bikers ask me what kind of motorcycle alarm I have because they have too many problems with their motorcycle alarms,(thunder page, nady, gorilla, and even the factory HD alarm system, just to mention a few. As far as being waterproof, my bike has been washed hundreds of times and has been in the rain dozens of times. The tested tough time that I was in the rain for over 400 miles in one day. My bike now has over 60,000 miles on it, so the motorcycle alarm with Harley Davidson pager has had plenty of vibration testing on it too. Thanks Again for a great Motorcycle Alarm and motorcycle pager.

Thanks for the replacement motorcycle alarm unit for my motorcycle alarm system. I just got the motorcycle alarm siren installed last night and it works great. I like the new, smaller motorcycle alarm unit with ignition kill switch. Easy install. You will be highly recommended to my riddin buddies.
Just wanted to say thanks for your help on this.
